Wow (now with links)

It has been brought to my attention that my novelette “The Language of Moths” has been honored with a Spectrum Award (in a three-way tie) in the category of short fiction.

I’m surprised that people are still reading that story, but also really happy.

At some point in the near-ish future, “The Language of Moths” will be released by Blackstone Audio as a book on tape, as well.

G’night all.

*You can find “The Language of Moths” in Jonathan Strahan’s Fantasy: The Very Best of 2005 anthology, or Sean Wallace’s Best New Fantasy anthology.

Congratulations! I didn’t know that you had also published a novelette. Is in it a anthology? Where can it be found?

Thanks, guys. And, Deb, I write and publish shorter stories often. You can see in my bibliography section on this site where they’ve all appeared, and some have links to online publications. But in the case of “The Language of Moths” it’s been collected into to “Years Best” anthologies at this point. I’ll post links to those anthologies in this entry.

Actually when people refer to the Spectrum Award they usually mean the distinguished art awards and annual anthology. This is what Shaun Tan had won just before last year’s World Fantasy Convention. Your award is the Gaylacticon Spectrum, also distinguished and lovely, of course. But different.

Thanks, Dave. And Rick, I hadn’t known there were two awards with almost the same name like this. Thanks for the heads up.
